Granite Falls
Granite Falls is a quaint country town of approximately 4800 neighbors located in the foothills of Western North Carolina. The name Granite Falls comes from the waters that splash over the granite boulders spanning Gunpowder Creek into Lake Hickory. This friendly stop off Hwy 321 in south Caldwell county is home to some popular folks of late. Eric Church, hometown country singer/songwriter, was born and raised in the area and Madison Bumgarner graduated from South Caldwell HS and went straight to the Majors and went on to pitch eight scoreless innings in Game 4 of the 2010 World Series.
Granite Falls sits on the border of lakes Hickory and Rhodhiss in the Catawba chain of lakes. Subdivisions include Plantation Pointe, Broadwater, Doe Run, Twin Oaks, Antler Cove, Anchors Landing, River Bend, Granada Farms, The Falls to name a few.
